Frequently asked questions

  • The brain is a complex structure protected by the blood-brain-barrier in the human body. Testing therapeutics directly on brain systems allows to see the direct effects on brain cells, without any filtering barrier in between. Furthermore, animal models often fail to recapitulate human brain disorders, making human, iPSC-derived brain systems, an ideal model to study therapeutics effects on the human brain.

  • No. Midbrain organoids are our strength, since we have worked extensively with this model for many years. However, we have experience with cerebral and striatum organoids and midbrain-striatum assembloids. Model development is one of our fortes, so we are confident to be capable to develop a different tailored model.

  • This depends entirely on the project and needs. We have worked on small projects, with few cell lines, conditions, and analyzing needs, which would represent a lower price. Extensive projects with many conditions, cell lines and assay readouts would lead to higher prices. For more details, contact us and we will be happy to give you an estimate.

  • This depends entirely on your needs. A typical project could last from 3 to 9 months. However, this could be shortened or could last longer depending on the project.

  • Not necessarily. We normally analyse and interpret the data ourselves, and provide a full report by the end of the project. This can be accompanied by meetings to go through the results together for better understanding and interpretation. If you would like to analyse your results yourself, we can provide with the raw data instead or in addition.
